I prefer to use formal names and cutesy ones for nn. But I have a friend who’s names is Carrie not Caroline.

I also like having a formal name then using a nn if you want. I’ve always been told and I think it’s important......to name the adult, not the infant. They don’t stay babies for long and someday they are grown and need a business card and they want that professional sound to a name and chrissy or cassie just don’t get it.

That’s silly, I know a paralegal named Chrissy Diane Baker. It fits her just fine as an adult.

It’s not silly. If her parents named Christine Diane Baker she would probably be running the firm instead of being the paralegal. Cutesy names are personal and formal names are professional.

I agree if you were choosing a lawyer would you want Bobby Joe or Robert Joseph to represent you in court? I like the name Christine nn Chrissy. It has grown well with me :) GL

I like nicknames as first names. People who don’t are just looking way too much into something.

Not really! Who would take a presidential canidate or doctor named Sailor Jones seriously? It may not seem like it, but names can seriously shape people opinions of other people. Really!
