Middle names vs. For vs. Mazzy?

Hey! I am currently 6 months pregnant with a baby girl, who we are naming Mazzy. It is the name of an album (Mazzy Star) and that’s where we found it. It is pronounced Maz-zee (rhymes with jazzy or spazzy), not pronounced like Maisie/Macy. We are having a really hard time finding a middle name. We like Calliope (Callie-aw-pee) and Astoria, but don’t feel like the flow well with Mazzy. Any other suggestions would be awesome! We like kind of strange names. Thank you -Eric, Quinn, big brother-to-be Fallon Seamus, and baby girl Mazzy.

Why would you want to use a name that rhymes with spazzy? Seriously, you don’t see how she could be teased by that?

Yeh Mazzy Calliope doesn’t flow at all. Keep it simple with such a name like Mazzy.....maybe use mn’s like Kate or Lynn or how about just use Star?

People are also named Kirk, which rhymes with Dork, Ellie/Kelly that rhymes with smelly, Jude ehymes with prude, Cooper rhymes with pooper, etc. Normal names have teasing potential too. You just don’t like Mazzy
because it is different. I don’t like Mazzy Star because I don’t love the album, just the name Mazzy. Kate and Lynn are too common.

For the record... Calliope is pronounce Kah-lie-oh-pee...

Either way I don’t like Mazzy, and neither middle name you like flows with it.
But if you insist...

Honestly, not a fan of Mazzy. It doesn’t sound cute for a girl at all. I think b/c its so unusual you should pair it with something classic so she has something to fall back on if she doesn’t love Mazzy.

Have you decided on a middle name? I’m due Nov and we will most likely name her Mazlyn or Mazzy. Love it, very different than the millions of Sophias, Avas and Hannahs. Some ideas...

Mazzy Star is the name of a band, not an album. You’re obviously not a big fan, why would you name your kid after them? A name needs to fit for a lifetime, it should mean something, not just sound cute.

really?love the unusual name mazzy! cant believe people are saying what they r..i am guessing they do emily ..tyler etc...yawn..and you can turn every naamyname to rythm with something negative! any! spazzy really not bad!

Keep the middle name simple and feminine.
I know I Ryan who is a massage therapist and always lists her name as "Ryan Nicole" to avoid confusion about her gender.

Mazzy is actually the band’s name. ;)
But maybe Mazzy Hope? Since the lead singers name is Hope? And it actually flows pretty good.

We named our daughter Mazzy...sorry not giving out middle name, about 6 yrs ago. She is beautiful and the name is as well. Best wishes and good luck. This is why we learned not to ask those even family, but to just name them and as it turns out it is a most unique name and befitting our daughter! I am sure those that think different probably wish they had better beamed themselves.

My name is Mazzy with the middle name Marie I am 15 years old and people always pronounce it wrong. They pronounce like Mazzy rhyming with lazy but I pronounce rhyming with jazzy people have also pronounced it like ma as in Mama and then zee....but I love the name and people only pronounce it wrong like at the dentist or doctor office or when ur teacher takes role did the first time

I love the fact I am not the only one who also likes the name Mazzy because of the artist. I just currently found out i am pg and i am hoping for a girl this time and I too was thinking of Mazzy and to include the middle name star like the singer cause i think it goes well with it... I also like Mazzy Marie its so pretty and thought about Maezie Star .. Idk its been years since you posted this .. what did you name your girl after all?
