What is wrong vs. with Hector?
Hello again. I posted today about the name Hector for my second son. It received mostly NO votes, 6-5. I appreciate the feedback but just wanted to know what is was that people didn’t like about the name. We really like the Trojan connection and the names meaning. It also has the advantage of being less common than Henry (another name we considered). Just curious. Thank you

I actually like it.
It’s unattractive in my opinion.
there is nothing wrong with it, just not a name that people like. When i hear hector i think of evil king for some reason. Its not exactly my cup of tea, but if you LOVE it then go for it.
I find it unattractive. The heck sound in the beginning sounds very sharp and harsh
I’d use Homer before I use Hector.
Because people like ugly, popular names like Jayden and Noah. They have no taste. Simple as that. Go with Hector, it’s a good choice. GL!
It reminds me of Hector Elizando (the actor), what about Oscar?
Poster 6, Noah isn’t ugly just because it’s popular. It’s actually Biblical, not made up like Jayden.
Noah is a very handsome name, and it has been around forever... I don’t personally like Hector, but it is not bad. I agree that the first syllable sounds harsh
Nothing wrong with it, people just have different tastes is all.
Thanks everyone. We are still deciding on whether to use Hector or not and know not everyone will like it. Personally, I don’t have anything against names such as Oscar or Noah, they are just not for us. Thanks again
I think the only reason I personally do not consider myself to be a Hector fan is that it is a name I never hear. While that may sound silly, what I am saying is, it is a name that at least I grow to like. While the first syllable is harsh, it is a very nice name but above all, go for what you love! Best of luck!
