Need vs. Opinions vs. Please

My husband and I just moved here from Israel and are expecting a girl very soon. We have 3 Names which we love (Maytal, Noa, & Orli). We are concerned that are daughter not have a name people think is odd. So we were wondering what you think and maybe if you could help us pick a more American name.

Noa/Noah is boy
Maytal reminds me of Manal

Maybe Rebekah,Rachel,Ruth, Naomi or Sarah.

You don’t need to Americanize the names! They are really cute as they are. I love Orli. Americans use "odd" names for their kids too...so I think you should honor you background and use an Israeli name.

Here are some Texan impressions of these names:

Noa - beautiful, but Noah is a boys name here
Maytal - reminds me of Maytag appliance brand, and doesn’t sound good to my ears (sounds close to very old fashioned Myrtle sounds like Turtle)
Orli - This is the strangest sounding, but can’t find anything wrong with it.

I would honor your heritage if you are worried use one as a middle name. Keep in mind America is the melting pot of many cultures so I don’t think it would be a problem if you used one as a first name. I love Orli it sounds adorable.
