MUSIC RELATED NAMES FOR A BOY vs. Any ideas?
Does anyone have any ideas for music related names for boys? All I can think of are names like Lyric, Harmony, etc. If you have any suggestions please let me know. I’d appreciate it. Daddy is a drummer.

Dorian is adorable!
Cash (Johnny Cash)
When you say you want a musical name, do you mean like the name of a famous drummer or band, or a musical term (i.e. Lennon vs. Rhythm)
I really don’t know...I was just looking for ideas. I don’t want to name him something really weird or anything just music related. Thanks for your suggestions.
If you’re husband is a drummer why don’t you just name your son after him?
Ok. Yeah some of the suggestions are a little strange. How about Bongo?:) Haha. Just joking. I’ll try to think of some music-related but not so "out-there" suggestions . . .
Jubal (he is the first recorded musician in the Bible; I actually know a little boy named this; it’s kinda cute:))
Tom (part of a drum)
If I think of any more, I’ll let you know . . .
Here’s a list I left on another poll. Of course, not all of them are music related. I’m just too lazy to take them off. Sorry.

This isn’t on the list, but Coda sounds like a cool boy’s name.

My children’s names are Melody, Cadence, and Coda.
How about naming after a famous composer you like? Pyotr (Tchaikovsky) or Haydn?
my daughters name is Harmony - we have been trying to think of a boys musical name that we can agree on. I see above someone called there daughter Lyric - but I like Lyric as a boys name - I believe it can be unisex? Anyone have any other male music names as additional ideas? Also had Lennon as a boys name for a while- but I think Lyric is abit more different. Thanku.
My sons’ names are Rhythm, Anthem (and due April 11) Coda... We had planned on naming the baby Aria until we found out he was another boy.
Oh yes and we’ve considered Chorus as a boy’s name as well... Rhythm’s father was a drummer and Anthem came out proudly showing off what his lungs could do. Coda is my son from a new relationship- it signifies an ending piece and may display a whole new section of music as well. He is our new beginning at the end of an old song, a segue (which could also make a great name) into a new life...
My daughter name is Lyric and Im trying to frind a name for a boy...I dont want it to be to weird
You Might try the name Rhodes. I was thinking of using that if I ever have a boy :-)

My daughters names are Aria and Harper and we are pregnant with number 3 and hoping we’re having a boy and kind of want to keep to the musical naming. But it’s way tougher for a boy. Good luck.
My daughter’s name is Piper Elise. Piper meaning "flute player" and Elise from "Fur Elise". We are planning on keeping the musical theme going. We like the names Lyric and Sebastian(Seb) for boys. For girls we like Cadence(Cadie)and Harper.

My son’s name is Lyric Jade.
i love Rhythm. and i just discovered Rhyme. I love love love Rhyme, and don’t know how to talk the dad into using this with baby #2 :) ( a boy also)

I’ve got boys Jazz, Cash, and Ben, and daughter, Harmony. I need a name for baby #5 (boy) and cannot find a good one!
I heard someone name their boy Gibson. I thought that was way cute. Fender just came to mind too... if your are into guitars.
Les Paul would be cool too. Could go by Les or Paul. Ringo haha. I love the name Lennon - works for both genders I think. Carol is another lovely classic musical name. Steele is good. How about Capo? Too weird? Br[removed]ax? Just came to mind, but I like it!
Weird it removed Brass and Sax from my above comment! lol
My girls are Aria and Cadence and my son is Tenor....if we had had another boy we were going with Chord.
My daughters name is Melody Rose and my sons is Lyric Ezra. We are pregnant with number 3 but haven’t found out the sex! We have a girls name, Harper Sophia, but totally torn on a boys name... We don’t even have a few yet, still throwing names out there!
Orpheus - first what comes to mind.
Chanson is French for song. Chanse for a nickname maybe.
Bidon is french for drum. It’s used more along the line as a container or canteen, but to me it doesn’t matter.
Orpheus is the Greek god of sleep and dreams it is not a musically oriented name
my son name is dholki !!!!!!! its asian drum name :)
My parents gave me and all my sisters musical names.Harmony, Melody, Choral, Aria, Celeste. If they were to have a boy it would have been Cord or Reed.
I am looking for a musical name for my first child! I am a flute player and an 8th grade music teacher. Music is such a big part of My life and i really want my child to have a musical name. I am three months pregnant and My husband and I had our names set on Aria for a girl (loved this name all my life) and Cayden (after cadence) if it is a boy. A friend just had a baby girl last month and named her Aria! She didint even know it was s misical name! she hear myself and another friend talking about an Aria in an opera and decided she liked it so she stole my name! I don’t love any other girls name as much. I loved Aria because it was musical but not in a way that would be too obvious. It was just so perfect and now I don\’t know what to name our little one if it is a girl. This is our first child. Any suggestions for musical girl names? Some sort of name that is related to music thanks!
hi all, I was also looking for musical names, we have lots of other jazz players that have awesome and weird names like Otis, Cole, Coltrane, Sinatra, Billie, Ella, Django, Mingus, Wes, Tholonious, Monk, Vaughan, I personally dont like Miles, but Miles, then you have names like Fender that I like as well, adagio has a nice meaning and is very very original. Avoid de axels and bobs or lennons, or harmonys, it\’s like the popular top EMMA but for people who like music
oh sorry! I just got in to say "bidon" in french means mostly "a tiny belly" so dont name your child "fat belly" please
Orpheus was a poet who could entrance wild beasts with the beauty of his singing and lyre playing. He went to the underworld after the death of his wife Eurydice and secured her release from the dead, but lost her because he failed to obey the condition that he must not look back at her until they had reached the world of the living. (sounds musical to me... just saying)
What about Major?
Rhythm (love this, especially for a drummer’s kid)
Also maybe put the music name as a middle name and use a more traditional name as a first name.
I am a girl and my name is Lyric and I love my name :)
Orpheus IS a musical name 100% LOL My daughters name is Lyra from the Constipation of Orpheus’ Lire. I would love a musical name for a boy, but hubby wont agree on anything.
I Think the best name to go with would be Lyric its amazing and everyone always says how nice the name is. It works for both boots and girls.
My daughters name is Halen Roads after Eddie van Halen and randy rhoads. If we have a boy it will probably be Sabbath or lance sabbath after black sabbath and after zakk wyldes son since that’s one my boyfriend idles or lance after dimebag darriel since his whole name is dimebag darriel lance abbot (only thing I’d agree on) lol I also think riot and rhythem is a good name
I have a three year old son named Lyric Ryder, and I’m pregnant with another. If its a boy, we’re going with Fender Gibson, and for a girl, Rythm Harmony.
I noticed not one person has said my sons name,
My husband is an aspiring hiphop artist.
We have 2 sons Lyric & Soul .
My son\’s middle name is Marcato.
Marcato (short form: Marc.) (Italian for marked) is a musical instruction indicating a note, chord, or passage is to be played louder or more forcefully than surrounding music.
And boy is he loud.
How about Octavius ? I was considering that myself.
i love the name Coda for a boy, however i have a cat that is already named that :)
Musica? It sounds like a boy name. So I would say Musica is a perfect name for a baby boy. I’m thinking of naming my son this name in the future.
Coda, Limerick, Bublé, Aria, Piper, Vienna, Saltz, Harper, Amanda-Lynne, Claire-Annette, Julie(Julie Andrews), Harmony, Opera, Operetta, Operette
