Logan Lynn vs. Yes vs. No

I want to use Lynn as the middle name because my Mom’s name is Lynette but my husband thinks it sounds bad with Logan. Does it sound weird or is it ok to use?

The Top Baby Name is...

Name Votes
Logan Lynn Myers 14% (1 votes)
Yes Myers 14% (1 votes)
No Myers 71% (5 votes)

I say no just for the fact I cant tell if its a boy or girl.

It sounds like a boy. If you want to honour your mother I’d go for Lynette.

If this is for a boy then maybe something like Logan Lane? If this is for a girl then I like either Lynn or Lynette as a middle name but I don’t think Logan works as a first name. I think you could do better than that.

If its a girl I beg of you to get rid of the name Logan, its not unisex just cause people use them on girls, its a hideous fad I hope dies off soon enough, it ruins too many actual boy names. If you wouldnt name your son Isabel dont name your daughter Logan, thats my way of looking at it and if its a boy save him from getting the snot kicked out of him in middle school by giving him a real boy’s middle name. So is it a boy or girl?

Sorry it is a boy that is why I was going to use Lynn since it is unisex. I had no clue people used Logan for a girls name these days. That is unfortunate.

I know you’re probably going for the "gender ambiguous" thing, but I have to say that I really can’t tell with this name. The first name is totally boy, but the middle name is mostly girl, so I can’t tell if it’s a traditional boy name or a trendy girl name. For most people who want ’gender ambiguous’ names, I suggest nature names, like Bay or Rain or Sky, because they work for both genders without people actually really getting confused. If you really want to honour your mum though, I’d change either the first or middle name to make it clear whether it’s a boy or girl.

^^ Comment taken back. I like Logan for a boy. I do think Lynn is somewhat confusing, but not as confusing if it’s a boy (meaning, for a boy with a boy first name, no one looks at the middle name, but for a girl with a boy first name, people use the middle name to make it girly).

Nope not going for gender ambiguous just never thought there would be any question that Logan is a boy.

What about Lyndon? It’d a clear-cut boy name that has "Lyn" in it.

Logan and Lyndon seem too similar and matchy. Do you really think it is a huge deal? I mean, not many people will know his middle name right?

I’m so glad its a boy! Lol Logan is really popular for girls on this site and it drives me insane! Although im sure its mostly kids troll polling and making up stuff.
To honor Lynette in a masculine way maybe
Nyle (Lyn backwards)
Knowing that its a boy named Logan I suppose Lynn wouldnt be so bad for a middle name since no one really knows anyone’s middle name, not sure if your son will love it when he is older though. Did your mom have a middle name? What was her maiden name maybe?

My Moms middle name is Roberta so I guess we could do Logan Robert Myers. That would please my husband because he doesn’t like the double L. Her last name is Mayo...not a good middle name. Haha

Logan Flynn is a nice suggestion.

Logan Robert is nice. Logan Lynn is ok too. As long as your last name doesn’t start with an L, a double L is fine.
