In English? Not a fan. Signe is a name in northern Europe, and it’s fine there, but I don’t think it’d be all that nice said in American English. Plus, if you live in Canada, people will probably think of "singe" (ie. monkey). So I guess I vote Signey, which I guess will be said SIG-nee, which seems to be what you’re going for.

We have a strong Norwegian heritage,that\’s why we like the name. We live in MN so the Canadian monkey won\’t be a problem. It would be pronounced Sig-nee.

haha Canadian monkey! Just to clarify the other poster’s post, "singe" means monkey in French. It’s not a type of monkey that mysteriously lives only in Canada!
Poster, I lived in Sweden for a year and I heard many pretty Scandinavian names, but I really don’t like the gn sound (Signe, Ragne, Magnus, etc). It’s too harsh IMO. Maybe use it as a middle name?

I understood that singe means monkey. I’m just saying that we live in MN and nobody is gonna think of monkey.
