How would vs. YOU spell it? vs. Kate-lynn

We’re kind of kicking this name around if our baby is a girl. It is pronounced Kate-lynn, and we were wondering (because there are so many spellings) how you would spell it/your favorite spelling. We both have very easily spelled names so it’s never really been an issue for us, and we need an outside opinion to help. Thanks from Mommy and Daddy: Jill and Sam.

I like Katelyn or Kaitlyn the best!

Kaitlin and Caitlyn are my two favorite spellings. We were considering these two for if our son (Bryan) was a girl, then again for if our second son (Rhett) was a girl.

Katelyn if you plan on calling her Kate, or Katie/Katy....
Otherwise, the original Irish spelling Caitlin is what I’d use.

I would most likely spell it Caitlin, but I also like Kaitlin :)

Kaitlyn is my favorite.

I think the original Irish spelling of Caitlin is the best. After that Kaitlin, then Caitlyn.

Love this name! Tons of different spellings.

Caitlin/ Caitlyn
Catelin/ Catelyn
Kaitlin/ Kaitlyn
Katelin/ Katelyn

Or any of these spellings with two n’s or two n’s and an e. My personal favorite are Caitlin and Catelynn. GL!

You know, this would be one of my so called "guilty pleasure names" in that I love the name but would never use it. It’s because I love the sound of the name, but I have yet to find a spelling I like - none of the spellings look appealing to me. I suppose if I *had* to pick a spelling, it’d be Caitlin just because it’s the original Americanized spelling ... but I don’t really like any of them.

Americanized?? Are you on crack? The ’Americanized’ spellings are all the made up dodgy spellings -ie- Kaitlynn, Kaytelyn, Katelynn etc.... Caitlin is the original IRISH spelling... and the best ;D

You’re right. Caitlin is the original Irish spelling. I thought it might have roots in a Gaelic name, but when I looked it up right now, I do see that Caitlin is actually an Irish spelling. Sorry for my mess-up. No need to be rude.

^Sorry, but trashy spellings frustrate me :) and the dodgy spellings are most common in America...

I’d spell it Caitlin if I had to write it down but my fave spelling is Kaitlin!

Caitlin since it is the most traditional.

I’d say spell it the original way - the "K" and "y" makes it seem tacky.

As someone called Caitlin, I get told all the time "Caitlin" is people’s favourite spelling of the name, although I have met people who spell it a number of ways . Every Caitlin gets the same nicknames no matter how it is spelt (Cait/Cate, Cat, etc.).

I think Caitlin is the original spelling, and is also the one I like the most. :)
