Can I use the name Melisande honor Sandra? The relative being honored mostly goes by Sandy and doesn’t really like her name. Still, I want to honor her in the baby’s name. This would be for a middle name spot.

Cassandra or Alexandra are also typically longer names for Sandy.

I have a niece named Cassandra and the first names I like mostly end in A, so I’m not sure I want to use an A name for the middle name.
