Hypatia vs. Famke

I really love the name Hypatia (Ee-pah-shah) for our daughter. I think it would be lucky to name her after such a role model. Its not my husband’s favorite of our list but he loves it too, his favorite is Famke. We are stuck on pronounciation, the correct way is Fahm-key but most of the people around us see it and say it Fahm-kuh depite correction and its growing on us, can using the pronounciation Fahm-kuh make us look ridiculous since it technically is not the correct way to pronounce it? We would like opinions on each, if you dont like it thats fine but please say why, since its really between these two. Suggestions welcome. Thanks

Genie's Mailbag

Emma in Western Australia
We have a boy named Tyler James and a girl named Gypsie Jade. Expecting our 3rd, which is a boy. I'm in love with the name Olly, but my partner thinks Gypsie and Olly are unique names and Tyler is not, so it won't feel right. So he wants an ordinary name. Please help with something unique but ordinary.
Baby Name Genie:
In the space between unique and ordinary is a special category of names I think of as "antiques." They are familiar and well-used names that are not widely in use these days. For your son, I give you Oscar Jude - a perfectly ordinary, unique name.
