What do vs. you think?

We have two older girls. Savannah Claire is 8, and Emily Victoria is 5. We’re having another girl and really love the name Melanie, but we wonder if it is too similar to Emily. What do you think?

They are close. But if your more of a nickname family where you call Emily, Em and you would call Melanie, Mel. Then their nicknames sound nice. Good luck!!

Emily doesn’t use a nickname; she doesn’t like it. That may change as she gets older though.

I think it is far too similar. What about Melody or Melissa instead?

Too close imo.

Why not use it as a middle name as it is very close sounding to me?

Much too similar, sorry.

Other names we are considering are Brooke, Marissa, Natalie, and Rebekah. Melissa is okay, but not one we love. Don’t like Melody.
