Araminta? vs. Yes vs. No

I’m a pretty big history buff, and Araminta was the real name of Harriet Tubman, (Harriet was her mother’s name and her middle name.) and I just love civil rights. We would call her Minty. Should I just use Harriet? I just think she could be teased with that name. (Hairy Harriet)

They’re both nice. I like Araminta, though I would nickname Mint. Go right ahead.

Minty is like a stripper name. Araminta is a nice enough name though. Harriet is a perfectly nice name, none of the Harriets I know get teased for their name! But it is your choice so go with what feels right to you. GL!

Araminta is a lovely name! Go for it.

I like it for some of the old English feel as well as the Harriet Tubman connection. I have a friend of a friend who used it for her daughter and was also planning on using the nn Minty. I don’t know if they do much though, because when I hear about her she’s usually referred to by her full name.
