I think you limit your son by giving him a name like Charlie that’s perpetually diminutive. If you went with Charles on the birth certificate he’d have the option to graduate to adulthood at some point.

what the heck is that previous poster talking about? That’s retarded. Charles sounds like a great grandfather. Charlie can very well grow into adulthood. If he wants, he can call himself Chuck

I agree with the first poster, actually. Charlie is a nickname. With that as his first name on his resume, I wouldn’t take him seriously if he came into my business looking for a job.
Chuck is a terrible name. As is Chaz. Charlie is the only decent nickname from Charles and it should remain a nickname. You’re giving him no options when he’s an adult. I think the same about Nate but it is better than Charlie. I just think you should think about long term likes for the child, not just what you like for right now as his future parent.
