Little boy vs. Adopting vs. Needs a name

My husband and I chose to adopt children from the beginning. We believe all children need a chance of a great life. In 2003 we adopted our eldest son Theodore (Theo) from China who was 3 at the time (now 13). 3 years later we adopted our twins; Alexander (Alex) and Sophie from Russia who were 2 at the time (now 9). Our 6 year old Olivia was adopted in 2008 from Hati at 2 years old. Little Eban came in 2011 also from Hati at 7 months old (now 2.5.). We didn’t name our children but we get the oppertunity to name our last little addition who is 2 weeks old that will we joining us in 4 months from Belize. A list is in first comment for our favorite names for our little boy!

Is it easier to adopt children from other countries than from your own? I’m genuinely curious. I think children everywhere in the world deserve an equal shot at being adopted by an American family, but I do feel that there are a lot of little ones living in bad situations in foster care in the U.S. I’m not American, so I’m wondering ... if your kids are from everywhere but your home country, it must be easier to adopt them?

What? Your kid was age 3 when he came from China with an English name? That doesn’t make any sense.

To poster 4- Were not sure if it was easier or not sense we havn’t adopted from the US (where we live) but the paperwork takes forever and all the traveling. We had to go to china 4 times before we could acually take Theo home. It would proabley be easier to adopt where your from because the child would already be a citizen and it would be easier tracking down where that child is at (many orphanges and Foster homes in the US). We chose to adopt from other countries because we wanted to experience children from around the world not just our own and wanted our children to experience having siblings from different places.
To poster 5- His chinese name (Xi ào duō ("She- a-do) means Theodore in english.

Easton is my favorite!! I also like Jonah and Jack too. Cohen is adorable with the right middle name. Good luck!
