Emerson is a nice, masculine name for a boy. The name really doesn’t need a nickname. Just call him "Emerson." If you want to use a NN, Em-n-m might work.

I agree with first poster Emerson doesn’t need a nn. Sonny is nice on its own too!

Emerson IS a boy name. It’s... weird on girls. Too masculine. Personally not a fan, but it’s a fine name.
