Apple Naomi vs. Naomi Apple

I posted a while ago about loving the name Apple for my daughter. I’ve sat on it a while, and I really think it’s the right name for her. However, because it is controversial, I might give her a normal first name (Naomi) and call her Apple at home. Is that to confusing? Caity

Your child will hate you (and come home crying from school) if you name her Apple. April "Apple" is a little better (though Apple shouldn’t be used in general). I think calling a child by there middle name has no point and makes no sense.

I actually think Apple Naomi sounds better but Naomi Apple is a lot nicer to your child, I think.

I know you love the name, but I just don’t feel that it is usable. Sure "celebrities have done it" but a child in the spotlight and a normal child is very different. Celebrities seem to be in competition with who can give their children the weirdest, most confusing names possible. We all have guilty pleasure names, but they need to stay just that.

Name her Naomi and Apple can be mommy’s special nickname for her :)

It’s fine to call her Apple at home but do not give her this name to go to school with - it would be cruel!

Gasp! I had a phase of loving the name Apple as well. Now I am going through a phase of my favourite name being Naomi... Anyway, I love both names but I agree it may make her life a little difficult with the first name ’Apple’.

I love Naomi too, it means: Pleasant. So even by giving her this name, she’s bound to be the "Apple" of your eye!...It makes the sweetest n/n for you, her Mommy, to call her.
