Do NOT spell it as DERRICK, spelled that way means an oil well which can be a sore spot during puberty. Derek means ruler, which is a lot better. Derek was my brothers name and I think it is great.

My brother’s name is Blake, and he doesn’t like it because on every show the preppy rich kid is named Blake. And I had a boyfriend named Derek once and he really liked his name, so I’d go with that. Good luck!

I prefer Derek as well. Blake is just not really my style. I wish it were a nickname for something because I would ike it better as a nickname. Derek is a handsome and underused name. You could definitely combine them, though it doesn’t have the best flow maybe you both would be happy ? I would like Derek Blake.
um to the 6th guest above?? did you even read?? that is not stupid. in case you didn’t notice it MEANS oil well it isn’t SPELLED like that.. obviously do you se a w or an l in derrick?? thats what it hought.. and also, shes just looking out for a kid and how they will be treated. so lets see who we should refer that appropriate little swear to after all!

I love Blake or Blakely. Don’t care for Derek at all really. And Derek Blake doesn’t sound good together. Too many "k" sounds. What about Derek Blakely?
