My Aunt is Katherine, my cousin Kate and my neice is Katelyn. Katelyn is so much better than the other two! It’s a stunning, girly name that sounds elegant too. My neice looks like an angel and acts like one too, (well sometimes...) So I hope you go for that. The only thing negative I can possibly say about the name Katelyn, ois that the older generation (40 plus) think it should only be spelled Caitlin! I personally like it both ways as it is the sound of it I like rather than the written word. My neices is spelled Katelyn.
