How can vs. I make vs. him understand?

My hubby and I are expecting our first child together: a baby girl. However he has girl triplets form his previous marriage whose names are: Lora Holly, Mora Polly and Nora Molly and he wants our baby girl to be named ’Cora Dolly’ to fit in with his girls. How can I talk him out of it and into giving our child a name of her own? I personally like Vittoria Ariadne but he refuses to discuss other names at all. Please help! Thanks!

Maybe use Dolly as a middle name but pick another first name. That way there is a connection without them being so rhyming.

The triplets’ names are matchy, and that’s understandable, but the other girl doesn’t need a super-matchy name. Vittoria Ariadne is pretty (I never heard Vittoria before, where’s it from?), but maybe let him pick one name so he doesn’t feel completely overrided and ignored. I think the naming process should be 50/50, and he needs to understand that.

Use an O name. L, M, N, O.

Vittoria is Italian for Victoria. What O names do you suggest? Thanks a lot!

Orabella is an Italian baby name.

Orabella is nice but how do you pronounce it? If its pronounced Aura-bella then its too similar to the triplets. Thanks!

Tell him to get lost! He has named (or helped named!) The children from his previous marriage and now it’s your turn. At the very most I’d let him pick a middle name so long as it’s not Dolly! Personally I don’t like his previous choices anyway so I’m going with yours! You may also like the name Colette.

Oh, well I really like it! I like the idea of using an O name, so maybe make Vittoria the middle name? Opal Vittoria, maybe?
