I have always loved the name Heidi and now I have the chance to use it, but my first cousin’s name is Heidi...is it okay to use the name if I see my cousin a lot?

If you really love the name that much, you’d probably regret it if you didn’t end up using it. Your cousin would probably be flattered if you named your child Heidi and they would both share a special bond- which would be cute. And although you see your cousin a lot NOW, it is possible it may not be the same for the future. Although YOU see your cousin a lot, your daughter most likely won’t see her Auntie Heidi for much of her older adult life. And finally, Heidi is probably my favourite name too, so it would be selfish of myself to not recommend it to anybody.

I agree completely with the last post, but if your that nervous about it, use it as her middle name!

I disagree with the others if you see her a lot it would be very confusing and you should ask her if its ok first.
