Ethan Alexander vs. Gideon Alexander vs. Joshua Alexander
My pregnancy has been difficult and dangerous from the beginning. We weren’t supposed to be able to have kids. It’s a miracle I got pregnant, and a miracle we survived the first trimester, but this has not been an easy road, and we’re facing our last 3 weeks with new concerns as well as relief that it’s almost over. His middle name is Alexander, after my husband. For a first name, we’re torn between Ethan (which means "Strong" / "enduring"), Gideon (after the Biblical Gideon whose army won a battle despite all odds being stacked against them), and Joshua (for the Biblical story of faith despite adversity). Which do you think is best? -Alex & Jenny Walsh

Eliminate Joshua, Jaw are terrible initials, the jokes growing up could be horrendous. I love Gideon Alexander. It is strong and special in every way just like your little man. God Bless and GL

My youngest’s name is Joshua, however Josh Walsh sounds a bit awkward. I love the name Gideon! Ethan is a little overused

GIDEON!!!!!!! There are so many Joshua’s and Ethan’s out there. Gideon not only has a fabulous story behind it, like you mentioned, but, its also the most underused of the three, which is a good thing. I think Gideon Alexander is AWESOME. GL.
