My eldest daughter is Emmerson Lily, we spelt it different so it was more girly.
As she got older she hated her name, now she goes by Emma and has since she was around 9 years old. Boys at school and girls used to bully her, until on the school records we changed her Name to Emma Lily, she enjoys it a lot better then Emmerson.

I personally dislike the name Emerson on a girl. I don’t get why someone would name their daughter something that means "son of" and I don’t find it a pretty name. But if your stuck on it, I think she would survive. There are tons of little girls out there with masculine names now.

I was actually obsessed with the name Emerson for a girl a few years ago and planned on naming my daughter this. But after thinking about it for a while I realized that while I may think its cute and different, she (my future daughter) may not and may want a girls name since she is a girl. I think you should try and imagine how your future daughter will feel about her name since she is the one who will have to live with it.

Its extremely masculine, not ok as a first name for a girl.
