Amelia vs. Yes vs. No

Hello everyone! I’m Charlotte. I’m due with my second child who should be arriving around December time. I have a 4 year old son named Alfred James ’Alfie’. The name that me and my husband both love is Amelia, but my middle name is Amelia. Do you think that this would be a problem or should we just go ahead and use it? Also, if we decide to use Amelia her middle name will be Grace. Thanks! Charlie and Rikky.

Amelia Grace is beautiful! I think that your daughter would be honored to bear her mother’s name. What a wonderful gift to give a child! GL!

Amelia is a beautiful name and goes really well with Alfred James ’Alfie’ (also love this name). It honestly won’t matter at all that it is your middle name, in fact, I think it is a nice little connection she will be honouring your name in hers! Grace is a stunning name too, Amelia Grace is so perfect. Good luck!

the fact that it is your middle name isn’t much of a concern as some other things are. 1. if you name her with an A name just like you did your son then you are stuck with the A theme which can be limiting
2. I don’t know if you were aware of this but Amelia is a medical condition which means to be born without arms or legs.

I don’t think your middle name being Amelia is a problem at all because I’m assuming most people call you by your first name and most people will probably call her by her first name. I think Amelia Grace is just a stunning beautiful name. It ages well too.

I think we might go ahead and use it!

My name happened to be Amelia and it is NOT a medical condition in which you are born without arms or legs. I love my name. You should use it.

Amelia Grace is beautiful and it doesn’t matter that Amelia is your middle name.
Also I don’t think Mercedes was being horrible, I think she was trying to be helpful and that is true about the A theme, although never heard of the medical condition but I am not a doctor so could be true

Amelia Grace is beautiful, I would definitely use it.
To those arguing it isn’t a medical condition; it is. It is a birth defect where you lack limbs.
Despite this, most people won’t associate it with that. I hadn’t heard of this condition until I just looked it up. It is a fine name and I wouldn’t worry about that minor connection, as it is a popular name. Good luck

it is what I heard and I am just passing along what I heard don’t be mad at me for that. You people really jump the gun on me too quickly any effort that I make to try and be nice is never valued.

Well, Mercedes, you’re hard to trust with your fake polls and all. Maybe we’d believe you if you quit making those because no one can take you seriously at the moment.

but it is a birth defect and therefore it is a medical condition JUST LIKE I SAID IT WAS.
