Absolutely not.
Any person who would name their daughter after famous male character in one of the world’s most well known love stories makes themselves look uneducated.
It’s like naming your daughter Romeo. You wouldn’t do that, would you?

If you’re not familiar with the story of Tristan and Isolde. In the story - which varies, Tristan is a knight who is sent by King Mark of Cornwall to fetch Isolde of Ireland, who King Mark is to marry. Tristan and Isolde fall in love, but Isolde has to marry the King, so their love is doomed.

I think by changing the spelling you can make this an acceptable unisex name...I’ve seen Trista or Tristyn before for example. But I’m not bothered by unisex names, so I think just plain Tristan is ok. If I met a cute girl named Romeo, I sure would remember her.
