Will he forever be vs. Cooper Pooper? vs. A pregnant lady needs a little help

Hello. I don’t know if you remember me, but back in August, we made quite a few polls about our son. He is joining 4 little girls, and we wanted to have a big gender reveal after we learned he was a boy. Along with the reveal, we wanted to pick a name that could be revealed as well. With your help, we narrowed it down, and we chose the name: Cooper John Williams. Maybe it’s just my raging pregnancy hormones, but I am now completely afraid he will be called Cooper Pooper in school! I am now thinking that maybe his name should be changed? We haven’t gotten any personalized things yet, but at the same time, I am also used to calling him Cooper. It’s like, I just feel in my heart that he is my little Cooper John, and I don’t know if I could find a name I liked again. As you can see, I am a mess, and I really need advice. Any help that can be given would be greatly apperciated. Baby is due December 14th, 2013.

Cooper is a great name. I wouldn’t change it. Kids can find a way to make fun of any name if they want to anyway.

I agree with the above. If you’re looking for a name that is totally immune from teasing you’re going to be looking for a very long time. Cooper is a very handsome name. You actually remind me of a funny story about my boyfriend Carter whose mum had nearly the same problem. She said she nearly changed it when she considered that he might become known as Carter the Farter but she’s pleases she didn’t cos she still loves the name all these years later and it never happened anyway, even if the nickname suits him haha. Carter has always been happy with his name too.

I agree with the others, but understand your concern. Anything is possible. You could name him John Cooper so that his school name is John, but call him Cooper...if you are worried about his name, chances are you will always worry about it....I know I did when I named my son and still do to this day.

This is funny because my husband suggested Cooper for our son when I was pregnant and I had the same concern and could not get it out of my head. Everyone assured me it wouldn’t be a problem. Regardless, we ended up naming him Connor instead.
