Cari Adelaide vs. Carrie Adelaide

Michael Wayne and Ellen Victoria, ages 7 and 3 are getting a little sister. Daughter #2 is due on October 29th, and we’re very excited! I like both... but I voted for Carrie as I think names ending in i just look less complete.

Cari to me would be CAR-ree not Care-ree

I have never heard of Cari being pronounced Car-ee ever in my life. It won’t be a problem, for sure.

Cari is usually pronounced CAR ee..I’d go with Carrie. Feels complete.

I voted for Carrie, my bestfriends name is Cari but pronounced like Poster#2 said Car-ee, she gets call Carrie all of the time and hates it.

Once again, I’ve never heard Cari being pronounced that way (and I’ve known about 5 Cari’s in my lifetime). Besides, if it ever was mis-pronounced, one correction and it’s fixed. Pronunciation is not an issue for us.

Thank you all for pointing out that Carrie looks more complete though. We’ll take that into consideration.

I like the look of Cari more, probably because it is similar to the beautiful Welsh name Ceri. To me Carrie looks more like a nickname.

I have never heard Cari pronounced like the earlier poster says. I prefer it spelled like this
