Running Out vs. Of Options!

Hey mommies! My husband and I had found Penelope, which we thought was the perfect name for our daughter and fit exactly what we are looking for. However, my sister and her husband just named their newborn baby Penelope! We have a lot of things that we are looking for, so if you can think of any that follow those "guidelines", please, PLEASE comment them! The names cannot start with the letters K, C, L, S, B, G, or E; they have to be old fashioned names with a nickname option; and they cannot be unisex or a boy name. If you are able to give suggestions, thank you SO much! -The Kopitar Family

We like Amelia (but none of those nicknames you had suggested), Matilda (love Millie!), and we like the idea of Thea but we don’t like the sound of Dorothea. We also like Ada but we’re not totally loving Adelaide

The nicknames cannot start with K, C, L, S, B, G, or E either; sorry I didn’t realize that I hadn’t added that in the original post!

We like Rose and Ada as nicknames and we like Imogen but don’t like Gen/Genny and can’t think of any other nickname for it. Please remember that a nickname is required (Jean/Jill/etc. wouldn’t be an option for us).

I’m biased but I love my daughter’s name:
Amalia (ah-MAHL-ee-ah) whom we call Molly for short.

We like Rosalind (for Rosa/Rose/Rosie), Wilhelmina (love Willa), and Imogen (we like Immy)! We still like the nickname Ada but we don’t like Adela, Adela is a little too short for us to think about using a nickname. We like Aurelia too, but the nicknames do not fit the requirements

We like Anastasia (only Ana would work as a nickname though) and we like Aurelia but none of the nicknames fit the requirements. Please remember the name as to be old fashioned WITH a nickname

We don’t like Rochelle and Ellie doesn’t go with our requirements. Nicknames cannot start with those letters either
posted by Poll Poster :: 10 years ago | report
Just curious why do you have so many requirements?

I’ll try to find some names.
posted by Ruthie :: 10 years ago | report
We do not like alliteration which is why we do not want a K or C name. We cannot/do not want to use the other letters as those are the letters that our other children’s names start with and we don’t want to use a letter twice. Our children all have long old fashioned name with a nickname so we don’t want to not use a nickname for this baby as it would just look really weird to us and we wouldn’t want the baby to feel "left out". And we really dislike unisex/boy names and would never use them

For Francesca, I know a few people who’ve used the nickname Francie (would also work for Frances).
posted by Nicola :: 10 years ago | report
Thank you for the comments on this poll! We will now make a new poll with our (confusing) list!

I’ll follow you to the new poll but what about Delilah? It is one of my favorite "old-fashioned" names and has many nickname options. Delia, DD, Lila
posted by Christy :: 10 years ago | report
We don’t like Delilah, DD, and Lila doesn’t fit with our requirements (please remember the letters that we CANNOT use). Though we do like Delia as a nickname, if you have any ideas for a longer name, please suggest them on our new poll
