What would vs. You do?
My husband and I are expecting our first, a baby girl whom we plan(ned?) on naming Adalyn Faith but after talking with his mom, we’re not so sure. You see, his mom is really caught up in the past and is insisting we name our daughter Florence after her mother. We both hate that name but we don’t want to tell her that. What would you do or what would you tell her? Please comment -Sarah

Do not feel pressured into doing something you both do not want to do. Just tell her simply that you just aren’t fans of the name. She will come around eventually. Love the name you guys have picked out! Beautiful! Good Luck!

I certainly wouldn’t let my mother in law name my child, and I’d tell her that straight up.

I think you should stick with your original name. She’s your daughter, not your mother-in-law’s, and I think if you told her that (probably in nicer words), she would understand better. Adalyn Faith sounds gorgeous.
