I want to leave the gender of my child up to God so no, I have not. To each their own though so if it’s something you to want to do, then go for it.

There are all kinds of old wives tales on how to get the gender you want, but I don’t think they actually work. The only way to 100% guarantee it is to have a test tube baby. But I guess it can’t hurt to try. To each their own.

I didn’t exactly try it because we didn’t have a gender preference but I was charting and knew when I ovulated. With one child, we dtd about 9 hours before ovulation. According to Shuttles, she should have been a boy. So that was a fail by the Shuttles method. With the other, we dtd about 3 days before ovulation. According to Shuttles she should be a girl, and she was. So that was a success of the Shuttles method. 50/50. In my experience it works about as well as flipping a coin.

Honestly it doesn’t work! My cousins have tried it to get a girl and at the moment they have their 6th boy on the way. I believe that it has more to do with what the male in the relationship produces and how strong each one is. I don’t think any of those methods ever work. The person above said it didn’t work the fist time but it worked the second time...but maybe with his semen the girl ones are stronger/faster.

Poster 3 here.
I think my husband’s environment had to do with the gender of our kids. The first two were boys and they were conceived when he was doing outside work and wasn’t exposed to chemicals. The two girls (with whom I charted and so know when I ovulated) were conceived after he started working in a greenhouse where the temperatures were higher and he was exposed to chemicals.
I seen studies that show that certain jobs increase the likelihood of having girls. Jobs that involve heat and chemical exposure are on the list. Basically, the boy sperm die off easier and the girl sperm are tougher. So anything that’s stressful to sperm favor girl sperm.

we tried it just on our last one, and got what we were hoping for, but can’t really say it worked since it was just once and a 50/50 chance. Be sure you’re "okay" with either gender before you try, even if you’d prefer one over the other, because it’s really not fair to your kid if even unconsciously they think you didn’t want them exactly the way they are.
