Ruby Estelle vs. Evie Isabelle

It’s a Christmas Baby! Hello Everyone, I’m Joanna. My fiancé and I found out around 3 months ago that our first child was to be a girl and we’re so excited. Also, to make things better.. Baby is due December 20th! Knowing this we decided to give her a very special Christmas name, my fiancé already has the surname Winter which just tops everything off perfectly. We’ve finally agreed on two names we love. Ruby- Christmas colour (Red), Estelle- meaning Star in French, Evie- Referring to Chrismas Eve and also Isabelle- (Christmas Bell’s). Please let us know what you think! Also, we’re still open to more suggestions! Thanks, Joanna.

Genie's Mailbag

Emma in Western Australia
We have a boy named Tyler James and a girl named Gypsie Jade. Expecting our 3rd, which is a boy. I'm in love with the name Olly, but my partner thinks Gypsie and Olly are unique names and Tyler is not, so it won't feel right. So he wants an ordinary name. Please help with something unique but ordinary.
Baby Name Genie:
In the space between unique and ordinary is a special category of names I think of as "antiques." They are familiar and well-used names that are not widely in use these days. For your son, I give you Oscar Jude - a perfectly ordinary, unique name.
