Emily vs. Definitely! vs. No Way!

Hi I am Leighton and my husband is Will. We have a huge problem with names. He likes more popular, trendy names and I like more unusual, unique names. Despite that I absolutely LOVE the name Emily! I know it is #6 on the charts and I just about know a gajillion Emilys but the name is really pretty to me. My husband likes it a lot too. At first we thought we had our name, but then I thought about it. Is Emily too popular to be used? We would definitely pair it with an uncommon middle name. If it helps last name is LeBeau.

I would say NO WAY! But if you love it than go for it! I would suggest a different spelling, so at least it’s unique in that sense. And definitely pair it with an uncommon mn because I know a gazillion Emily Ann’s!!

Some suggestions:
Emileigh
Emmalee
Emaly
Emely
Emilie
Emilee

I wouldn’t use such a common a name but you just need to think about if you are ok with that and potentially other classmates with the same name. I do think it’s a pretty name though.

What about Amily/Amileigh/Amalie/Amelie? With an "a" sound that makes it unqiue, but still seems cool and trendy.

You could use Amelie; slightly different pronunciation but the names are still similar. I do like Emily but if you’re looking for more unique this might be something you’d like

You could also alter it slightly to Emilia. That’s what my cousin did and they call her Milly for short sometimes.

Go for it! I do not know any young Emilys.

Changing the spelling doesn’t make it unique - it just means you will have to correct everyone. I do like the name however but you can’t change the fact it’s common.
