Magnolia vs. Magdalena vs. Magdalyn/ Magdalene

Magdalena is very pretty. I prefer it to either Magnolia (doesn’t feel like a name) or to the shortened Magdalene / lyn. I have never been crazy for any girl name that ends in LYN> but this also presents pronunciation issues because of its similarity to Madeleine. Gardenia is a nice alternative that has a fresher feel to it and is more unexpected than most flowery names etc.
