Beatrice Avery vs. Beatrice Skylar vs. Beatrice Oakley
It’s a tradition my family to use Beatrice for the first born girl in every generation. I really dislike the name and I hate Bea even more but my mother is insistent on me using it. She will go by her middle name so which name: Avery, Skylar, or Oakley? Thanks
The Top Baby Name is...
Beatrice Avery
Beatrice Skylar
Beatrice Oakley

None. They all sound weird next to classic Beatrice.

If you don’t like the name, then don’t use it. This isn’t your mother’s baby, who gives a crap if it’s a tradition. Use it as her middle name if you still want to keep something from the family. I always think it’s confusing to give your child one name, but then call them by their middle name (especially once they go to school)

Break tradition! It’s not law. She’s your baby girl and the joy of being pregnant is picking out a name.
I voted for Avery.

I guess it depends on what you think your future children will be named. To me, Oakley does not seem girly and is very tomboyish/unisex, so if you plan on using either Avery or Skylar as a first name in the future, Oakley does not match. And although I understand that Beatrice (being classic) might sound weird next to the more current middles, I guess it doesn’t really matter if you don’t like the name Beatrice anyway. And if you must use Beatrice but cannot possibly justify using a name you hate, compromise. Beatrix, Beatrice (prounounced Bee-ah-trEEce with an accent over the i), Beatrisa, Beatha, or Beate.
She could also be nicknamed Bea, Trixie, or Tris. However, if you must use Beatrice, I would suggest -
Beatrice Wren
Beatrice Elle
Beatrice Noelle
Beatrice Eve (Evie)
Beatrice Marlena (Lena)
Good Luck! Let me know what you think!

I was thinking about using Beatrice as a middle name. I don’t like classics all that much if you can tell. Most nicknames or variations of Beatrice aren’t in my top name lists either. Most of those middle names I don’t like very much and wouldn’t use as first names. I might just use Beatrice as a middle name. Thanks for the input!

I think all the middle names are of the same style. Trendy and unisex. So if you have more children and use the other names for them, they’d go together well.
Skylar would be nice and you’d have Avery and Oakley for other kids. The nice thing about this sort of name is that you could use them for either gender.
