I probably wouldn’t attempt to pronounce it. It looks like two random letters to me.

Since the moon of Jupiter is pronounced Eye-oh, I’ll vote for that one.

It’ Eye-oh. In mythology, she was a nymph who slept with Zeus. All the moons of Jupiter are named after Jupiter/Zeus’s lovers, so that were the moon’s name came from as well.

Poster 3 is correct, stunning how many don’t know the simple fact that Io is in fact a proper name

I very rarely like to tell people their names are really unusual odd choices...but I must have read this poll 4 or 5 times trying to figure out if you this was a typo or a name. I think your child (not sure if this is a girl or boys name) would have a difficult time having people pronounce and even recognize their name as a name.
I would put a bit more thought into this decision.

In English, it seems that it can actually be pronounced either way. I, personally, would say eye-oh.

Iona (eye-oh-nah) would be a nice alternative!
