Zhyan Maddox vs. Yes! vs. No!

So my husband had a brother pass away a few years ago and his middle name was Rhyan. My husbands name is Zach and we put together Zhyan (pronounced like Zye-en) using Zach and Rhyan without having a common name like Zachary Rhyan. What do you think of Zhyan Maddox?

Thank you! We wanted to honor his brother without making it too noticeable. So we love it, but was curious as to what everyone else thought! :)

Not a fan, sorry! It seems too trendy and it won’t age well. If you want to use Zhyan then I’d use a more common, classic name to balance it out. What was his first name? Maybe that will give you something better to work with.

No.. too weird, will confuse people. You could go with Zyan, that looks a little better and less awkward with the unnecessary h. But it looks like a weird spelling of Zion. Which is what I’d recommend... Just go with Zion! It’s a normal name, that still honors your husband’s brother.

His first name was Joseph, and we had Jac on our list (J from Joseph and ac from Zach) but we can’t use Jac because he has a step brother whose name is Jackson. We will probably use Zhyan Maddox since we are absolutely in love with it! :) :) :) :)

Bad idea...I agree with the second person; give him a professional classy middle name to fall back on. With a name like Zhyan Maddox people will be able to tell when he was born (not necessarily a good thing).

What about Zephyr? If kind of combines Joseph, Rhyan, and Zach all in one; plus it’s an actual name (a biblical name).

We don’t like Zion because that’s pronounced Zye-on and not how we have it Zhyan (Zye-en) Zhyan rhymes with Rhyan as Zion does not. :/

If you like Zhyan don’t go too crazy. Go with Zhyan Cooper

Personally, it looks a little strange to me :/ However, honoring your brother-in-law is a wonderful idea. Joseph or Rhyan would be great first names for your little boy. And you could use Zachary or your husband’s middle name as the middle name.
Joseph Zachary
Rhyan Zachary
Joseph [husband’s middle name]

If you don’t like any of those, Rhys might be similar enough to Rhyan without being too out there.
Rhys Zachariah

Good luck!

My sons name is Tristan Maddox, and we call him Maddox. When I was pregnant I too liked the name Zion, you know people kept telling me no I don’t like this name or that name but in the end the choice is yours. Id say go for it. His name will be unique in a good way and he can tell people that his name came from his daddy and uncle. Good luck!!!
