Veronica vs. yes vs. no
I love this name and all of the associations it has for me. The only thing is, I REALLY dislike Ronnie as a nickname. My husband thinks Ronnie will happen regardless of what I think. Do you think this nickname is inevitable? I don’t really want her to have a name related nickname anyway. Thank you for your honest thoughts on this. We really need some feedback.

I think you plan on calling her Veronica and only Veronica then yes, people will start calling her Ronnie. But if you’ve got a different nickname then they’ll go with that nickname. I have a student named Alexandra called Lexi and everyone calls her Lexi, not Alex, even though Alex would be the standard nickname.
An alternative nickname could be Vera.
Don’t like Veronica and I agree with Poster 1. I’d u don’t like Ronnie you better think of another nickname.
I don’t believe nicknames are necessarily inevitable. Example: I know lots of guys named Matthew. Some are only ever called Matthew. Others are sometimes called Matt. It just depends. I like Veronica a lot.
I think you would be able to make it clear that she is not to be nicknamed Ronnie until she is a teen at which time you may not have control. But by that time it likely won’t bother you as much because she will always be Veronica to you. You could also call her Nicki if that would work better. Veronica is pretty and not overused. GL
Veronica is gorgeous. I think there are other nickname options such as Vera and Nica.
It has this sassy and modern feeling to it and sounds cool.
