Wow. Y’know, I’ve never really thought of Providence as a name before, but now that you bring it up, I actually like it. A lot. I think it fits in quite nicely with virtue names like Temperance and Constance. I can see Vivi as a nickname, or even Denny if she’s tomboyish. Really, now that you mention it, I love the idea of Providence as a name. Just wish I thought of this one myself. :P

I used to hate this name, but the more I thought about it, the more it grew on me. I would say go for it and use it. Sure, it’s a bit unique, but in a good way. It’s not like Sh’aqqua’neishah or something like that.
And not every single name has to have nickname options. People can actually go by their full given name.

Honestly, I dislike how it sounds. I personally think there are plenty of names that have absolutely gorgeous meanings, but unless they actually sound good, I wouldn’t use them. Most people won’t know the meaning of a name, so unless it’s "dumb" or "sickly" or something, the meaning isn’t as important as the sound and, unfortunately, Providence is not very nice-sounding.
