Hey guys! I was just wondering what you guys think of the name Luca/Luka for a girl? I REALLY REALLY like it, but i want to know what you guys think. And what would the best spelling be for a girl? Luca, Luka or something else? Thanks!

A few years back, I was watching a medical show and there was a baby named Luca (girl). Her family was from another country. I don’t know about the other country but I always considered it a boys name. I do think it’s cute. I think it means: Man from Lucania. Perhaps name her something with Luca and give it to her as a nickname?

It’s Cute, It sounds Hawaiian,umm for a Girl I would Say Luca. The K makes it look Boyish.

I’ve always thought of Luca as a boy’s name. That is until I read your post. I guess I just never considered it before but I think it’d be really cute for a girl. Either spelling would work. Good luck!

I knew a guy in high school w/the name Lucca. So I guess I associate the name with the male gender. It’s ok, but nmsaa.

In most places around the world, Luca or Lucca is a boy’s name. If the girl grows up to be someone who loves to travel internationally, it might be kind of strange for her to go to other countries where it is decidedly a boy’s name.

I love Luka but only on a boy. I prefer the spelling Luca on a girl, however. I do love, Lucy, Lucia, Lucille, Lucila, Lucinda etc on a girl though!
