I love this name as boy name. There are a lot of girls named like that so it’s original to give it to your son.

I love Ashley on a boy. I find it so classic and handsome. Yes, many girls may have the name but I think it would still work great on a boy.

It’s great for a boy/man. I know 2 male Ashley’s and have always found their names to be suitable for them.
Go for it!

No, I don’t think you should use Ashley for a boy.

Ashley is better on a boy/man in my opinion.

No no and no. Not ever. Ashley is an ugly girls name but even worse on a boy. They’re going to make fun of him.

I believe Ashley began as a boys only name. Others include Stacy & Whitney. I know there are more but I can’t think of them all right now.

I think Ashley works very well on a boy. If you and your SO love it, then don’t let anyone change your minds. GL!! = D

Teasing, bullying, no no no. Way too feminine. What about Asher? Similar but all boy.

Its great for a boy and its not feminine! Honestly people are so ott on here sometimes.

Poor boy! Sharing a name with the opposite gender sucks! Ashley is super common now on girls! Don’t do that to your boy, please! Asher is better.

Ashley is a great classic boys name! (See the movie "Gone With the Wind") I’d honestly be weak in the knees to meet one!

I’ve known several guys named Ashley, Leslie, Stacey... They’re all originally boys names and it’s only ignorant and sexist people name their girls with boys names.

It’s pretty much a class indicator.

Ashley on a girl = lower class
Ashley on a boy = upper class

I’ve never seen Ashley on a boy. There are two ways of thinking about it. One: it’s a classic, and if women’s names can become men’s names everyday, even a name that has been leaning more toward the female can still be used for men. Two: the boy might get teased and might hate you at some point for giving him what some might consider a girly name. You could also give him a very "masculine" middle name and have him go by that if he grows to dislike Ashley. I’ve known men who didn’t like their given name, went by something else, and then came back around to their real names when they grew up and matured. Personally, I love Whitney for a boy, but I’m not sure I’m ready to go that route.

I think it’s a great boys name but I would be heasitant using it. What about as a middle name? You could argue that girls haven’t really been named Ashley since the 90s. I’ve never met an Ashley that wasn’t at least 30 years old. But there are plenty of girls and pop stars named Ashley. By the time your little one grew up it would be an old lady name. Is that what you want? The name is wonderful, don’t get me wrong, but its not about the opinions of a bunch of hormonal pregnant ladies like me on a baby naming site. Think about your son. Good luck, and know it won’t be the end of the world if you give your little boy this classic name, but would it be the best? Keep exploring!

Try Ashton, Asher, or Ashby.

Would never consider it for a boy. Nothing masculine about it. Ashton is girly too.

Seriously? Ashley is unisex and Ashton is a boys name! Nothing girly about either.

I just find Ashley very girly sounding and everyone I know with the name Ashley is a girl. I would feel badly for a boy named this.
