Emerie vs. Emmerie vs. Emery

Please don’t suggest Emerson. I’m trying to come up with a name that is not over used , somewhat feminine but not traditional. I know this is originially a male name, but does anyone feel that it seems better suited for a girl? Thinking of Kate or Kathryn for middle.

I prefer the spelling Emery and I also dislike Emerson. Just saying Emerson ranked #312 in 2007 so it is not overused, but who cares the name sucks! Emery ranked #571, If you didn’t know. Bye.

I think it’s a cute name - I’m a fan of gender-neutral names, especially paired with a more feminine middle name. Emery Kate is a nice choice.

I’m just wondering if anyone has thought of an Emery Board?

oh yeah, like a nail file.

If you miss the m at first glance Emerie looks a little eerie. Go with Emery. Or Emerson to avoid the nail file thing, and you could always use the nn Emery.

How about Avery?

Personally, i don’t care for any of the names you listed nor Emerson, just my opinion.

Good luck!

My top name choice is very similar, I think we’ve settled on Emerson Katherine and will call her Emmy Kate. But my second choice was Emory and I think the Emmerie spelling also looks more feminine.

My daughter is six and named Emmerie Ann. She gets many compliments on her name and it surely suits her. I chose that spelling because I thought it was the most feminine and difficult to mispronounce. We originally had only considered it for our boy name, but our other children really liked it for their baby sister, asdid I, dad was a tougher sell. " ) meanings are the usual "industrious leader" (German) but I have also found it to mean "home strength" (Old English), and "brave, powerful" (English). Hope this helps!
