Boy’s list- vs. Opinions needed!

My husband and I are expecting our first child, gender unknown, due in September. We have only just begun looking at names, and our list is growing very quickly! I would really like to know what everyone thinks of our boy’s list, which I will post in the comments below. We are looking for something that will age well and sound professional- nothing that will end up sounding date-stamped. Please tell us your thoughts! Thank you all in advance, I apologize for the lengthiness of this list!

Not a fan of Asa. change the last A to an S and you have issues Issues others will pick up on.

Cedric is too closely connected to Harry Potter for me.
Foster’s is a beer.
I like Frederick and Vaughn I really like Vaughn

Sterling, Cedric, Royce and Ezra are great!

I really don’t think Cedric is too Harry Potter. Before Harry Potter, people thought it was too Cedric the Entertainer. My mom considered the name for us but never used it because we were both girls. She says that when she mentioned Cedric she was told that it reminded people of "Little Lord Fauntleroy".

I wasn’t even aware that there was a Harry potter character named Cedric, to be honest! (Shoes how out of it I am!) thanks for the heads up, are there any other noticeable conflicts with any of these names? (Besides foster, duly noted)

Oh my gosh, I just love ALL of these names! I think my favorites are Asa, Cedric, Ambrose, and Hiram, but you simply CANNOT go wrong with any of these names! SO handsome!

I like these ones a lot:

Frederick "Freddie"

I don’t think the Harry Potter connection for Cedric is too noticeable...he was a very minor character in 2 of the books. It’s not an instant connection like Hermione or Remus.

Thank you! I was worried there would be a generally negative reaction; I know some f these names are a little odd or ’old fashioned’ :)

Ansel - isn’t this a brand of food colouring?
Hiram - sounds like an old man in a beard to me
Hugo - love
Patton - bit weird
Sterling - ok
Ambrose - bit monkish to me
Calvin - like a lot
Harrison - blah
Cedric - old fashioned but I have a soft spot for it
Frederick "Freddie" - not bad
Royce - love
Vaughn - love
Teague (Tegan?) - Teague isn’t bad, Tegan is girly
Augustine - August is good, Augustine sounds like a girl
Fenton- don’t like the sound of this one
Foster - Quite partial to this one
Palmer - Seriously? Think about some of the possible jokes for this name
Asa - Not a gan
Ezra - Dislike sorry
Felix - Love
