Jane??? vs. as a first name

I named my daughter Eliza Jane and I am considering having her go by her middle name (for personal reasons.) Any opinions on the name Jane??? Maybe Janie for when she’s little?

I love Jane, especially as a first name. If you are going to call her Jane anyways, depending how old she is and if she has been born already, you might be able to change it to Jane Eliza or something.

My sister’s little boy’s full name is Jack Henry (two first names) but he goes by Jack most of the time. I do usually associate middle names as first names as an older man thing, my grandfather uses his middle name as his first, and I don’t see why a girl couldn’t either. Jane is very pretty!

I like Jane. I find it elegant in it’s simplicity. A case of less being more.

Love the name Jane! Simple yet classy. How old is she? Not old enough to be used to Eliza?

By the way, when I was a child, I was mostly called by my middle name. Like you, my mother did that for personal reasons that became apparent after I had already been born and named. It was not a problem in any way. I did decide on my own to switch to my first name when I started school, only because I liked my first name better. But it was never a problem either way. I still actually have some relatives who call me by my middle name.

I’ve always found Jane so very plain and boring.
