I think it’s a beautiful name but it will ALWAYS be mispronounced and misspelled. Trust me, i know, my parents named me Caoilfhinn (pro Cay-lyn) and everyone always would say it like Cal-Finn, even though its pro. differently. Use Chevonne or use the traditional spelling as the middle name.

I like the name and think you should spell it the traditional way - I’m not a fan at all of Americanizing names like this. Yes, you will have to explain how to pronounce her name and will have to spell it, but these days with so many spellings you have to spell out practically everything, even what used to be the most common names.

I think it is pretty but without the intro I couldn’t pronounce it. This will result in hardship when you read the name. pro (see-o-bahn)
Siobhan is not unheard of, most people will know how to pronounce it...

I agree with the earlier suggestion that you should keep the Irish spelling but use it as a middle rather than a first name.

I would use Chevonne/Shevaun/Shavon. My ancestors came over from Ireland and I see nothing wrong with using the version people would understand here. Nobody will be able to pronounce Siobhan, sorry. Sinead is the Irish form of Jane and we use Jane don’t we?

How about Niamh (pronounced Neev) or Aislinn (pronounced Azlyn) instead?

Sinead is a variant of Jane, Siobhan is a variant of Joan. So call her Joan then -- not Chevonne.. I mean seriously! It’s like phonetically spelling out a name and it looks silly.
