Molly vs. Miley

I love the name Molly but i really dont want people to think of the drug ’molly’. (!) I really liked Miley but Hannah Montana ruined that. What are your thoughts on both of these names for our daughter Due in December!?

I love Molly. I don’t think the name will be referenced with the drug. It’s a very sweet name that has been used for years and years now.

What about Maylie? Out of those two, I like Miley best. I only think of the drug when I say molly. Maybe because I use it? Not sure if everyone associates it with the drug!

Molly is my favourite - I didn’t even know there was a drug called that, so don’t be too concerned because it is a pretty name tat has been used for may generation over century’s.
Personally I dislike Miley for the same reason, Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus have ruined the name.
If you really like Miley what about Milly/Millie it is similar but not linked to the same problem.

Definitely I don’t suggest Miley. Miley Cyrus has ruined that name forever.

Molly is pretty and I don’t think anyone would think of the drug. It’s a classic name. You can even spice it up a little bit and spell it Mollie. I have a friend named Mollison and she goes by Mollie.

Also, Millie is a very sweet classic name.

I wouldn’t worry about it. The drug will have a new name next year but the sweet girl’s name Molly will still be sweet in a hundred years.

’Molly’ will forgotten when another nickname comes around, which it always does, so dont worry too much about it. I think Molly is gorgeous.. It’s a shame about Miley cos I loved it too, until Miley Cyrus ruined the name for being her tongue wagging self.. gross

Molly is a nickname for Mary, so why not name her Mary, or a form of it like Marianne, Rosemary, Mariette, etc.

Molly is gorgeous and I didn’t get the drug reference either. I think Miley is too strongly associated with Miley Cyrus to use.

I’m 15 and since the drug molly was a pretty big concern at my school this previous year, I definitely associate it with the drug. Sorry. It’s still a pretty name, but take it from a teenager, molly is a widely known drug.

Miley is definitely out. Miley Cyrus is not someone I would want to name my kid after. Out of the two, Molly is the best by far.
