Thoughts vs. On vs. Perseus?

I have always loved the idea of naming my son ’Percy’, but never thought that it could stand alone as a name, and I have always disliked the name Percival. On another poll, I came across the name Perseus and fell in love with it! What do you think? I need to find a way to convince my husband when he gets home and thought if I have some positive comments here, he may be swayed. What is your honest opinion? Do you have any middle name suggestions? Thank you!

I LOVE it! I always have - also one of the only Greek heroes to have a happy ending!
It’s very unique but it’s not crazy and it has a lot of history behind it, also Percy is an awesome nickname.
I’m the person who suggested it on the other poll, so I would like it, but really, it’s a great name.

I really like the name Perseus, it’s definitely underused. At the moment there’s a young adult book featuring a Percy (Perseus) as the main character, so it would be cool for your son when he grows up to read about a book whose main hero has his name.

I agree with everything poster 1 said and I also read that it means destroyer so maybe your Hubbs may find that another cool aspect to it. I love it, it’s strong and rooted with spunk.

I think the name is very handsome, I’d go with something fairly common/classic as a middle name to balance it out.

It’s one of the worst names I’ve ever heard and he will def get picked on in school bc of it.
