I know one Jane and she is 19. I think its a great name and not popular at all when you factor in all the spelling variations of the popular names.

I hear of it every once in a great while as a first name or middle name. I don’t know anyone personally named Jane. I don’t even think it’s all that popular as a middle name. Certainly nowhere near as popular as, say, Grace or Rose. I think it’s a great choice.

Jimmy Kimmel just named his daughter Jane, which may or may not affect popularity. But right now I would say it isn’t very popular right now.

The youngest Jane I know is in her twenties. I think it might be a popular middle name, but I know very few people even considering the name Jane as a first name. But that’s probably because Jane is really plain and boring, at least to me.
