I’ve seen Ryland and Rowan used on more girls than Sawyer, so my vote goes to Sawyer!

If you look at the actual numbers nationwide, all these names are more popular for boys than girls.

As of 2013:

Rowan - Boys #295
Girls #426

Ryland - Boys #407
Girls #5084

Sawyer - Boys #120
Girls #448

I think Rowan is the nicest on this list.

Rowan is on our list for a boy. I think the more parents using it for boys the better, to keep it in the boy camp! Ryland and Sawyer both seem masculine to me as well and I can’t imagine why anyone would want to use them on a girl. All 3 are good choices. My prefernce is Rowan, but go with the one that flows best with your last name.
