Winter vs. on a boy

We’re still thinking about Winter for our son. Well, I’m thinking. My hubby likes it a lot. I’ve seen this name on both genders, though I know that it’s more common on girls. But there are lots of unisex names in our area so it wouldn’t be too out of the ordinary. Anyway, wdyt?

No. Wretched for either gender.

I don’t like it. I hate when people name their children after seasons or months or days of the week. I’m just not a fan.

I think it would be very handsome. If you aren’t sold though, maybe use it as a mn.

No. Especially if he isn’t born in winter! Sounds stupid maybe, but I do think it’s ridiculous to name a child that was born in Summer "Winter", or to name a child born in January "August".

I think it’s great on a boy, no matter the season he’s born in.

It’s cute for either boy or girl.

I like it for a girl not a boy, I agree with the middle name suggestion.

We’re planning on using either Kenneth, Edward or Edward Kenneth for the middle name or names. They’re family names.

No! Can’t even imagine such a feminine, pretty name like this used on a boy.

Very girly.

It works fine on a boy. It actually seems more masculine to me.

Very Feminine and girly.

The only Winter I know is a 12 year old boy, so it seems boyish to me. His mom says his friends sometimes call him Frost, which I think is cool.

I love the nickname Frost. I never thought of that. Thanks.

Not very fond of the name on a boy, doesn’t feel masculine enough. /: But I do like it on a girl.

I don’t really like it as a name at all, but there is certainly nothing feminine about it.

I can only picture this name on a girl, which I find stunning. I would find it so odd on a boy.
