Cosette vs. Josette

We love the name Josette, although another poster suggested Cosette was the better choice to go with her twin Tessa. If we go with Josette, the nn probably would be Josie. Please let me know which one you prefer. We like both, just worried Cosette is too "les mis"?

I like Josie and Tessa the best, but I don’t like Josette. And Cosette will be asked a lot if her name is from Les Miserable, it is a beautiful name I just don’t think it goes well with Tessa.

Love Cosette!! Not a fan of Tessa. Tessa & Josie go well and both sound nicknamey. How about Cosette & Manon! Or Cosette & Giselle!
(Also, I’ve never seen Les Miss, so I wouldn’t have made any connection.)

If you love Josette, then use it. (Josie & Tessa sound cute.)

Besides, Cosette means "little thing" from the French word "cose"/"chose" meaning "thing."

Cosette was a name made up for "les mis."

If others want to name their daughter Cosette, let them.

If you want to name your daughter Josette, Then do so.

That’s ridiculous. I can’t believe someone actually thinks Less Miss made up the name. Haha!

How about Susette/Suzette!

Not too keen on Susette/Suzette (sorry). Tessa is staying as one twin name...but so torn still between Cosette and Josette (still leaning more towards Josette)

Cosette is lovely and sounds great with Tessa. Josette sounds a little too made up for my liking. I’d love Josephine with the nickname Josie though.

Josette is not a new made up name, lol. My name is Josette, but I’ve always been called Josie (pronounced Jocee, not jozie). I love my name. It’s quite unique outside of France and parts of Canada. People have always complimented my name.
