Maverick vs. Maveric

My husband and I are debating on how to spell our son’s name. We love this name however our last name also ends in "ck" and we think it might look better if his first name didn’t end the same way. When you think about it alot of people spell the name Dominic without a "k". Does Maveric look like it is misspelled since it is an actual word?

Well, yeah most people spell Dominic as Dominic; Dominic is the traditional spelling, whereas Dominick is a variant, so Dominic and Maverick really aren’t comparable. Yes, Maveric does look misspelled and like something is missing, which it is. Don’t worry; Maverick Lastnameick wouldn’t look odd at all. Maverick is fine, so long as it’s spelt right. :)
